PROCUT — weldment cut-list and section-export management
PROCUT is a SOLIDWORKS Task Pane add-in built to solve two related problems in weldment-heavy fabrication: keeping cut-list production data trustworthy, and getting clean, correct section geometry out to advanced multi-axis tube-laser cutting equipment. It's in daily working use, not a shelf prototype.
Strengthening weldment production data
PROCUT reads a part's weldment cut list directly and presents every structural member — export name, length, symbol, angles, drill/laser flags — in an editable grid, with filters for non-weldments, bar/flat stock and overlength parts. A renumber → apply → lock workflow writes those edits back to the model's own custom properties and then locks the file, so cut-list data can't silently drift out of sync with the model after it's been issued. Once locked, PROCUT also totals stock length required per material description across the whole cut list, straight from the same trusted data.
Managing section export for 7-axis tube lasers
Advanced multi-axis tube lasers cut compound angles, miters and notches directly into 3D section geometry — a flat 2D DXF isn't enough to drive that. PROCUT exports true per-body section geometry (IGES) for the current item, a selection, or a full batch across every configuration, automatically organised into revision-numbered subfolders. That turns a fiddly, error-prone manual export process into a controlled, repeatable step, and keeps exported geometry properly traceable back to the exact model revision it came from.
Together, those two pieces close the gap between "the model is correct" and "the file that reaches the shop floor — or the tube laser — is correct," which is exactly the kind of gap Taynium exists to close.
Ensuring production data is read from the correct SOLIDWORKS configuration reduces the risk of issuing a DXF with the wrong revision, material or profile information.
